From our authentic Cajun meats including boudin, andouille sausage, gumbo, etouffee, and seafood stuffed pies, to our Cajun spice mixes, and Louisiana artisan gifts and décor, Hap’s is the only place to experience it all right here in our corner of Texas!

Our owners, Chris and Ashley, have deep family roots that can be traced all the way back to when the French first immigrated to Louisiana from Nova Scotia in the 17th and 18th centuries. And it is also the place where they met and fell in love over a decade ago. They have a passion to share their grand amour (great love) of Louisiana with everyone they meet. They strive to bring you authentic products that are exclusively made in The Pelican State that you cannot find anywhere else.

Hap's Cajun Meats and Market is named after Ashley's grandfather, Harvey Preston Carpenter. His nickname in the Airforce was 'Hap Hazard' and afterward everyone knew him as Hap. To honor his memory and to share his love of food and family, the decision was made to name the store after him.
